DEZANOVEHOUSE RENTALS GUEST REVIEW

Reading comments and reviews of guests that have stayed in a rental villa is a great way to start planning your trip. A stay at Dezanove House always exceeds expectations, with guests continuing to return year after year. These testimonials from visitors show how the Dezanove House never fails to leave a brilliant impression.

“I have just returned with my family from 2 weeks in magical Galicia staying at the Castro Barona/Dezanove House in A Pobra do Caraminal.  There were 6 family adults in our group.  The house accommodated us easily with each having their own bedrooms, 2 bedrooms with own bath top floor and 2 bedrooms bottom floor with one bath.  There is a full bath on the main floor.

The main floor is an open floor plan with massive sliding glass doors overlooking the estuary.  The house is fully equipped with large open kitchen.  The staff, Sonia and Manuela always kept the house spotless for our return from a full day of touring.

Ana and Inaki responded immediately to all my questions, all of which resolved instantaneously. All minor as too workings of the house.

We highly recommend Ana and Inaki recommendations for touring.  I suggest you try Chef Pablo to cook for you at least one time; we arranged four, each amazing.  All traditional with fresh fish, mussels, clams and pulpo.

If you have time book the day outing with Titote Marine.  Carmela and Jose excellent captains and hosts for a fun full day on the water.

The house is centrally located for easy touring of the region.  Some of the most dramatic scenery is easily accessible.

The Gordon family thanks Ana and Inaki for allowing us to use their lovely, modern home.”

“Our week in Dezanove House was very special.  The website had already given us a taste of what awaited us, but the real thing surpassed our expectations.  The house definitely has that elusive ‘wow’ factor with its stunning contemporary design and once inside, peace and tranquillity instantly surround you.  The living area and bedrooms upstairs all have the wonderful panoramic vista of the estuary which you can sit and enjoy for hours on end, following the boats going to and from the distant floating platforms producing mussels – one of the delicacies of the region. The fact that the wood on the walls around you has been floating in the bay for many years links this very modern house with its surroundings and brings the outside in.  It is spacious, wonderfully light and very comfortable; the attention to detail means that you lack nothing.

Sonia, the delightful housekeeper, was there to greet us on our arrival and had prepared a delicious supper of local produce which was much appreciated after our drive from Porto. She was very helpful and friendly.

We loved the area, with its beautiful unspoilt beaches, all within a short drive of the house. We enjoyed our shopping trips into Pobra, which had everything we needed as well as some excellent restaurants where we sampled some of the seafood and tapas dishes for which the region is famous, such as octopus, cuttlefish and Padron peppers.

A visit to the mountain rock pools is a must and the view from the top pool takes the breath away. We were so impressed we returned on our last day to experience it once more.

The region and coastline is obviously a well kept secret among Spanish nationals. We visited Santiago de Compostela one day, which was the only place we saw any international tourists.  Further away, La Coruña is also well worth a visit, with its attractive glass fronted houses overlooking the port in one direction and the beach in the other.  Associated with the Armada and Sir John Moore, there is plenty of historical interest if you can tear yourself away from the wonderful seafood on offer everywhere.
We had a fabulous week and most certainly intend to return.”

“It is wonderful house with an amazing view from the living area out to sea. The children said it was the most awesome place they had ever stayed in. The beach is fabulous – so private and tranquil. We enjoyed swimming every morning and collecting mussels for dinner which were the best we  had ever tasted. We also loved walking into Boiro and marvelling at the colours, sizes and shapes of the houses along the way and the sun glistening on the emerald green waters. It was a perfect holiday for all us. Thank you.”

“We would like to thank you for the great experience of staying at Dezanove house. For us, it was more than a mere vacation. In those crazy pandemic times, our stay gave us joy, tranquility and recovery from the stressful time of lockdown.

The house was without doubt the best holiday home we ever had. Nestled directly at one of the world’s most beautiful coast lines, its open front brings nature right into the living room where you can sit for hours just watching Ria de Arousa, enjoying a cold beer and listening to your music streaming on the excellent stereo system. Even during the height of summer, the house never became unpleasantly warm inside. Which speaks to the mastery of the architect who designed it. As do the many thoughtful details of the house such as the kitchen platform with it Teppanyaki grill and the convenient small table adjacent to it (ideal for quick grab of food) or the spectacular cinema screen which can be rolled out from the ceiling where we could watch our favourite Netflix series.

Together with the many pleasures of the area (which happens to be the place where my late wife’s family is from and which we have been visiting for many years now ) the house is the perfect recipe for an unforgettable vacation which we will surely repeat as soon as possible.”

Vielen Dank!.

We loved the wonderful house. Dezanove represents a truly original and successful mix of materials from Galicia (woods, stones) in the outdoor area and a thoughtful, spacious, high-quality interior. The kitchen is so well equipped that we almost regretted not having used it even more intensively. Every detail is special – exceptionally beautiful, the large glass front to the garden overlooking the sea. The house is in a small thoroughfare with little traffic and access to the beach; the neighborhood is friendly and quiet. Approximately 15 km away you will find a kilometer-long sandy beach, which was almost empty despite the high season. The hosts are very attentive; They responded to small comments and questions within minutes. A very nice stay for the whole family; We will certainly come back. Many Thanks!

“we never forget the pleasant, comfortable und relaxing stay in your house. It fits so very well in the natural surroundings with its wooden window shutters of the upper floor and the long reflective window front of the lower floor.

The carpool, the entrance and the hall invites you with all the walls of glass. It lets the nature in and doesn’t keep it outside.

First I thought this villa would be too spacious for a couple alone. But we enjoyed it really. The master bedroom and the living room gave us the space we needed. With the three bedrooms there’s enough space for a whole family or friends. The bedroom in the basement is really special like built into the rock.

Every day I loved to discover new perspectives in the house.

Opening half the window front was like sitting on a terrace with fresh air, the sound of the wind in the leaves and the birds singing. We loved that a lot.

The kitchen is very well equipped and is suitable for every need of a whole family. The welcome “basket ” was wonderful with the cake, the fruits, the wine etc.
We just felt at home from the moment we arrived.”

“We had the pleasure of spending a week at Dezanove House around Easter time. The house is exquisite. Fabulous architecture with innovative design and an eye for detail which is amazing. At the same time it is comfortable and feels like home and the baths are shouting out to provide some R&R. The housekeeper couldn’t have been more helpful, even buying us a sowing kit so we could finish our sock knitting project! The owners were ‘on call’ for us helping with the delivery of our lost luggage and patiently running through how to use the cinema system. Pablo, the local chef was recommended by the owners. He came over to discuss our menu, took us to the local market to buy the produce and, with his two sous chefs, lovingly prepared a fantastic 5 course dinner for our family.

The views from the living room and kitchen are breathtaking, overlooking the bay. We caught sight of the dolphins one morning, playing in the bay who, the locals told us, live there year round. Across the road is a small beach which feels private and secluded. Even with the Spring temperatures we managed a quick dip in the sea, with the fisherman watching over us in amazement. Dezanove House is in an area of Galicia catering for local tourism only – there are no resorts or development associated with the ‘costas’. Gardens with vegetable plots run down to the beach. It’s old Spain with genuine warm and welcoming locals although it’s worth having some basic Spanish as you’ll need it. A short drive will take you to deserted, sandy beaches, miles long and comparable to the the best in the world from the tips of Scotland to the edges of Australia. In the other direction, as well as Santiago de Compostela, there are cities of culture and history to provide some intellectual stimulation.

The house is unique and luxurious, we were well looked after and this area of Spain is breathtakingly beautiful with its soul in tact. We’ll be back.”

“Thank you so much- The house and our holiday were fantastic.  The house is beautiful, of course but it is also a really comfortable place to spend time.  The view is fabulous and the ability to just walk out of the house and down the steps opposite to the little beach is special. We really enjoyed the trip that you arranged for us to Ons and spent time on the wild beaches just a short drive from the house, when we were almost alone there through long and sunny days. The house keeper was great and the welcome meal that was provided was a real life saver when we arrived at mid night. Thank you again.”

“The Dezanove House was one of the finest we have ever rented. Ana and Sonja were extremely helpful during our stay. The amenities of the house were top notch, the quietness and the view on the sea fantastic, everything works.

It’s a house you’ll hardly want to leave, this place really has it all; with the view from the living room, a galician hour of rain is no problem. The house itself has been decorated and equipped beautifully. The bedrooms are spacious. The massive open living area with a stunning kitchen (with literally everything you will need) are very pleasant. If you don’t want to visit one of the typical galician restaurants, you have everything to prepare a dinner with the excellent seafood easily available. Tears when we had to leave but we hope to come back again.”

“We had a wonderful stay at Dezanove House. Everything we could possibly need was provided and the house was immaculate and well designed. The views are stunning and we found time to really unwind as well as explore. There are long sandy beaches 10 mins drive away which are picture postcard beautiful and we had fun eating out and exploring the area. The local cheese is well worth a try. We went to Santiago de Compostela twice and would recommend it as a great day out.

The house is an ideal base to explore with every creature comfort to come back to. Much love, care and attention has been put into the design and we enjoyed our time there so would recommend it to others without reservation…”
